Thread Name: Lyr Req: The Swallow / La Golondrina
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: The Swallow / La Golondrina
Kirby, as Jim Dixon pointed out above, there's a 1935 score with lyrics by Jerry Castillo, beginning "In rapid flight, perhaps towards Granada, a little swallow", referenced in the Indiana University sheet music database. New link here . It says the work was performed by Shep Fields (a 1930's band leader). The score itself isn't available there, so your contribution of those lyrics is a valuable addition to this thread.

I don't speak Spanish, but it sounds like the lyrics you posted could be a translation of what's in the 1906 recording by Carlos Francisco. Slobodan maintains a blog dedicated to La Golondrina and the other songs based on it, at http://indreamsonly.blogspot.com/, with mp3 files of many versions, including Francisco's and very likely some performance of the version you posted. You could search his archive pages for mention of Shep Fields or Granada, or e-mail him at the address he posted above.
