Thread Name: BS: Announcing one's return to Mudcat-How?
Subject: RE: BS: Announcing one's return to Mudcat-How?
As we all realize, "I'm leaving" is not a reasonable thing to write by any standards. "I threaten to leave unless you all apologize and promise to be nice in the future" is not any more reasonable, but at least makes some formal sense. The actual message is "I am thoroughly dissatisfied", normally stating a reason which is what attracts other posters. A title "Obit: BS" or "Respectful posting" serves exactly the same purpose; the elves may well merge all those threads under the title "The Stepmother of All BS Threads".

For a change, what about a thread for "Born Again Nice Gals/Guys"? "I once was a troll, an abuser, a taunter, a racist, a militant sectarian, a GROLIES, a GROLIES-hater, a GROLIES-hater-hater etc. - but when XX threatened to leave, that opened my eyes! Praise the Mud, I saw the light!" How many responses may that attract?

Anyway, as with leaving, proving it is doing it.
