Subject: Tech: Les Paul the inventor & beyond
After inventing the harmonica holder at 13 Les went on to invent guitar sustain by taking a railroad rail and adding a microphone to pick up the string. He invented multi tracking, echo, reverb and more. He ended up wearing two poor grade hearing aids and died before refining hearing aids of his day.

Make your guitar sound like a harp or flugelhorn...

Now we have digital means to do amazing sounds.
I can't imagine I am the only one to do the following but with a Korg or Yamaha studio piano with a thousand voices I play violin or cello or harp (any instrument works) as a sound sample recording then tailor the play back with a woodwind sound like flute, clarinet or sax and end up with amazing new sounds. Put a bassoon reed on a trombone and then digitally change it into human voice and you havea sound never heard before. Infinite possibilities are waiting for performance artists who like changing their guitar sounds waaay beyond fuzz busters.

I come up with several inane inventions daily but exploring new voices is hours of fun and is something anyone can do right away with a synthesizer piano less than15 years old.
As I said before other people must be doing this too. For all I know there is probably a name for this?
