It's green pepper season around here too. We have plenty of our own (just for eating, not enough for freezing) but a friend has offered us a 5 gallon bucket of green peppers so I'll be chopping and freezing that much later tonight.
Today I've been working in my kitchen. Our fridge is the kind with the freezer on the bottom and generally it isn't used for much other than ice cream, half open bags of veggies and fish. It has also been used for extra zucchini bread, Vita-muffins, egg rolls, popsicles, etc. Well....I'm sorry to say that some of that stuff has been there a LONG time and just not even looked at so we have a lot of freezer burned stuff. I cleaned out the bottom drawer this morning and got rid of most of it. Then I brought in the veggies, fruits and meats I have planned for this week's meals. No going out in the mudroom in the dark (light switch is in a weird spot) to dig around in the freezer on a daily basis! YAY!! I worked on our budget, scanned the flyers for deals this week on groceries, made a menu for the week, pulled out any canned or boxed items I'll need, did dishes, am on my 2nd load of laundry and maybe I'll do floors today..maybe not. I have some homework to complete for my class (ahead in the reading but didn't do the workbook stuff..shame on me!). I should be at Sit & Sew today but I just have too many things around here that need attention and the house is bugging me. I'm hoping to get grocery shopping done when I pick up Jeremiah, have a little Mommy and Jeremiah time with a picnic dinner at the playground, then class and home.
Today I also pulled some stuff out of the kitchen that I just don't use anymore and put it in the yard sale pile. YAY.
