HEART TEMPORARY
Adapted from words by Jorma Kaukonen; v. 4 by Susan O. Hinton
Music by Jorma Kaukonen

1. Blue skies of the sunrise
Stars fade with the night
Springtime rustling through the trees
Sings a song of great delight
On such a day you think you'd say
Exactly what you mean
But in God's perfection
Things aren't always just the way they seem

CHO:
When you think the best you'll offer
Falls short of His mark
Then self-inflicted holes are piercing
Deep within your heart

2. Blue skies in the noontime
Breezes start to still
Two ole dogs sleeping in the sun
They lie up on that grassy hill
At such a time you think you'd find
A way to show your heart
But though you reach for your lover's hand
Still you walk apart

CHO

3. Blue sky of the evening
Stars they fill the sky
Every velvet shade of blue--
Who could make this lovely sight!
At such a time you'd think you're fine
To bid this world good night--
But God may have another plan
And ask you one more fight.

CHO

4. Sun upon an old barn roof
Celebrates the day
So hold this moment in your hand
Follow it along your way
The future flows, His plan still flows
Aside your window sill
By letting go we might escape
The prison of our will

When you think the best you'll offer
Falls short of His mark
Then self-inflicted holes are piercing
Deep within your heart

When the best you have to offer
Is all you have to give
Enjoy the moment God has granted
One more day to live

Blue skies out my window
Said goodbye to early morning rain.
