Arghhhhh!!!!

In between everything else, I've just attempted to put the nebulizer together. I'm just unclear enough about where to put the meds, how to make sure the tubing has no moisture in it after Tom's done with it, etc. that I'll HAVE to make time RIGHT NOW to watch the DVD.

I truly wish they'd explained a little more at the hospital where it was prescribed. All they did was hand me the prescriptions when Tom was released. Didn't spend as much time going over prescriptions (actually I don't think they really did except to say that the metoprolol was time release (thus different from what Tom had been taking) and there was one completely new prescription and a Rx for spironolactone which Tom's cardiologist had taken him off of last March. No other information at all (and damned little in the printed material). Checked with Tom's cardiologist about the spironolactone the other day and he said take it at least until Tom sees him in a week and a half from now. Tom's PCP went over the meds list when we saw him Wednesday, but I hadn't been able to pick up the nebulizer last Monday because they needed Tom's Medicare card rather than his other insurance information and I couldn't get back in to pick it up until Thursday.

And, of course, he didn't use anything like it IN the hospital...

So here I am trying to figure it out with with a thick manual with not the best of illustrations. When in doubt, find time to watch the DVD... And then, if I need more help, maybe the visiting nurse can answer any questions on Tuesday.

Going to try to get another load of laundry in before I watch the instructional DVD. Then try (it gets complicated) to change my bed (first, I have to move all the books, papers, phone, binders, etcet etcet that take up the other side of the bed -- actually changing the sheets is the easy part).
