Burke, you said.... it's the epitome of folk art. and... The people who did that guitar don't care one wit about middle class definitions of good taste.

This particular guitar, if not for sale, is certainly being used to promote the sale of Gibson guitars to a middle class market. And while there is certainly a great quality in the craftsmanship, the 'art' is debatable and the 'folk' non existant. It's just a tacky commercial product.
