Thanks to all who provided the story behind the song "Run, Come, See Jerusalem." I have listened to the ballad many times since the 1960s when I bought The Brothers Four album "In Person" which contains a version. It is actually very well performed. The accompaniment is excellent and their diction is such that it is easy to understand every word. I had always thought the song told the story of a great storm & shipwreck, but I never could find any information - until now. Thank goodness for the internet! It made easy work for the curiosity of this little ol' Southern Belle. Huge thanks to all of you who made comments! I greatly enjoyed all of them!
