I've just realised that a photographer's site which I have bookmarked so I can drool over his beautiful photos is a (photographer's) photo sharing website from SmugMug.

They have a $40 account for the ordinary photographers who does not want to sell their work & professionals can spend up to $400 pa.
SmugMug Revamps Its Site, in a Challenge to Flickr If's far more than I need (or any of us need?) but it's good to know it exists & add it to this thread on photowebsites.

As a bonus the same author has cast his eye on The new flickr
