My HP Photosmart has worked quite well for several years now acquired a problem. In the past replacing printers has been more economical than repairs.

If replacing the printer becomes necessary, anyone have any recommendations? My preference is a stand alone printer capable of printing directly to discs. A quick check found HP, Epson, and Canon with capability of printing to CD. The HP is now over $450 and scans on copies. All I need is a printer. Epson and Canon seem to be most logical choices now. Would appreciate comments from users on printer experience and preference.
