I had a bit of a notion from the start 'Largie' could be a nickname and it turned out it is.

The PO'L referred to by Breathnach's note is Patrick 'Largie' O Loughlin of Milford, Miltown Malbay.

The O'Loughlin's of Milford (the house stands empty now) formed the Milford Ceiliband in 1937 'Largie' played the pipes in the band, his father and several other family members were also part of the band.
