"Arkansas Traveller" isn´t such a bad idea after all. A Swedish fiddler (Gyris Anders) lived in Chicago at the time of the great fire. He composed a waltz "The Chicago Waltz" and brought it back home to Älvdalen when he moved back to Sweden so it´s not too unthinkable he may have heard some tune like A.T and shaped it in his own way.
