I would not discourage anybody from attending the Sheffield Carols, but I would caution against them being turned into the circuses many other fine local customs have been through mob-handed insensitivity.
Ian Russell has appeared on LOCAL radio, speaking of them taking place and, as somebody has pointed out, the pubs have advertised them as LOCAL events, which is an indication that this is what they are - LOCAL events, a far cry from turning them into national knees-ups
