Subject: RE: BS: Obama and the EMP-electromagnetic pulse
People like Songwronger and some other lovers of conspiracy theories (the tinfoil hat brigade) invariably ignore the fact that an operation that would involve a large number of people, such as the EMP plot—and, for that matter, the claim that the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center were not Muslim terrorists but a U.S. government plot to get us into a war with Iraq—would invariably spawn potentially dozens of "whistle blowers" who, at the very least, would get lots of television interviews and a lucrative book deal out of it.

Something that would involve the number of people needed to bring off the alleged EMP plot (exploding nuclear bombs over the U.S.) would simply preclude any effort at secrecy. And who, of the nuclear physicists and either plane crews capable of bringing something like that off, or missile launch crews, would even be willing to engage in such a plot?

Another small problem:   a nuclear bomb does not always produce that strong an electromagnetic pulse. Remember the nuclear tests in the Nevada desert way back when? The resultant EMPs from the test explosions had no effect whatsoever on the plethora of lights in nearby Las Vegas.

No, this latest alleged plot attributed to President Obama by hysterical bigots like Songwronger just doesn't wash!

Terrible how pathological hatred can warp a mind.
