I'm lucky still to be working a bit after the official retirement age, but I do find the stress from other lawyers actively trying to sabotage me, and the staring at computer screens harder than I used to, and as for those all-night completion meetings, forget it. Those who cannot get jobs because they are "too old" - and in the private sector that starts in professional jobs at about 50 - face a very bleak outlook. Many in the age-range 65-70 will have neither job nor pension.
