Erich, I looked up 'dilly' in my unabridged dictionary. None of the definitions seem to help.

a call for a duck
a light wagon, truck, water cart, etc
a basket or braided bag (Queensland)
a darling, the youngest child, a weakling (rare)
a daffodil
