Here is another of Al Gore's speeches to the same topic. He is very cautious to emphasize that he is quoting an official of a US naval school. He slips, though, by saying "polarized" instead of "polar" - possibly Freudian, but otherwise forgivable. Gore does not claim to be a scientist himself, but he has done a lot to make the non-scientific world think.

If predictions turn out wrong, it does not mean that different predictions will turn out right in the future. Note that all models of "global warming" predict that some areas will get colder and wetter.
