Interesting. In a choir I'm in it's noticeable that when women come up against something that's hard to sing they are liable to go quietly, or mime without singing, whereas the men tend to sing away at full volume regardless of whether we're getting it wrong or not.

Of course that probably makes it easier for the choir leader to spot when we need to be put right. Which she has to often enough...
