Hope a Mud Elf can delete the duplicate posts above -- no idea how that happened.

Anyway, I'm now waiting for the plumber to return my call and the water is shut off in the bathroom.

At some point between when I turned off the computer and went upstairs (approx. 9:30) and when, after sorting papers, I decided to get dressed (approx. 10:30), the pipe (evidently) under the window in the bathroom burst and I discovered water cascading down the windows by the table downstairs. I quickly pulled the table out, disconnected electronics, moved some other stuff, then ran back upstairs to pull out the Rubbermaid drawers, etc. in front of the bathroom shut offs and got them OFF.

Arghh. I don't think the papers on the table and in the bookcase have gotten much damage (Dave Hallowell's framed photo of Tom got wet but far from soaked) but I'm still coping (and trying to sop up the water now draining towards the kitchen floor).

If I'd closed the shut offs BEFORE the pipe broke, I wouldn't have known the pipe had broken.

Just got a call from the plumber -- he's on his way. So I've got to clear stuff out in front of the window in the bathroom.
