Apparently I hit "send" just in time, like Scotty down in the engine room getting those di-lithium crystals to give a burst of energy just in time to raise the shields. Just before my computer crashed and burned. It seems one of our computer techs "advertised" a reimage to automate to the computers in the library classroom 315. I'm in the basement, different area, all sorts of things different. I noticed a little dialog box about reimage on the other monitor and hit send on my mudcat message as I realized it was counting down. My computer turned off and has continued to cycle through a loop that isn't working. I called IT, three have now come down. It also seems that others were hit by this - two others that I know of so far. Good thing I save my stuff on an external university drive, but it does mean I have to redo my desktop and free programs (browsers, etc.) and reset preferences. I was going to use a different computer in the same area but a tech needed to use that to navigate to his desktop to see what was happening. I'm now on a computer that has Internet connectivity but no access to the drives I was working on.

"Toast" is the adjective used to describe my computer's hard drive data.

I think I'm jinxed this week.
