Yes. Unfortunately, you probably can't take my best advice, which is to see Dr. Dan Howard in Morrill, Nebraska. Make an appointment to just TALK to the dentist, and make him aware of the problem. Most are sympathetic, and will offer suggestion. If not, FIND ANOTHER DENTIST!! Quite often gas and or hypnosis help. Some dentists will let you just come and sit in the chair for a while, and then leave when the fear is too great. No procedures!! It may take a while, but you really need to do this because any infection in the mouth can and will travel directly to the HEART...........and then you got BIG TIME problems, kiddo.

Oh, and it's nothing to be ashamed of at all.
