Charmion and Jeri and I agree on the risks of driving. I am always wary of the others on the road. I have, however, in 60 years of driving winter roads, had my own mishaps and happily did not involve anyone else! I hope saying that does not "jinx" me! I have also found that a little snow is more dangerous that a lot. One or two inches terrify me. I once drove ever so carefully on an inch of slush, only to do a 360, then a 180 and go down a small embankment and across a field where I encountered something which wrecked a tire....

Montreal is, of course, also in a deep freeze, to be alleviated on Saturday, with more snow flurries.

After 12 hours in bed, I was almost awake when R rushed off to a mtng. Took a really hot bath, had brekkie and now, having been through the emails, am prepared to accept going back to bed. Coughed less last night. The good news is that the additional supplements have increased my mobility and decreased arm problem.

SRS! As you mention packing fragile stuff, a potter has posted on line that he packages his fragile, and very expensive, ware by putting the object in a plastic bag, then puts a quantity of spray foam into a box, adds the ware, fills the box completely with the spray foam. Actually, a couple of them report doing this. They recommend buying small cans so it is all used as they do not keep.
