What devastating news.
So sad to lose another of the folk scene's great characters.
Feisty to the last crumb, and beyond. Staunch in the extreme (and all the better for it!), and utterly true to her lifelong convictions. A compelling storyteller, a mine of information and yes, a mighty fine singer. She did not suffer fools (and was proud of it).
Me, I shall never forget her personal kindness over the (comparatively) few years I knew her. Her warmth and sincerity will live forever in my memory, as will her valued support for mine own humble endeavours, which gave me much courage.
I look forward to learning more about her long, eventful and fascinating life as this thread unfolds...
Meanwhile my deepest sympathies and condolences go to faithful companion Monologue John and to Dorothy's family.

PS - Max - thread title needs to be corrected please, Dorothy's surname should read FRYMAN.
