FLASH FREEZE WARNING IN EFFECT

Warnings

Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick
4:29 AM AST Monday 27 January 2014
Flash freeze warning for
Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick issued

Temperatures will rise above the freezing mark this afternoon and then fall abruptly this evening.

A low pressure system over the Great Lakes will intensify as it tracks northeastward along the St Lawrence Valley. A warm front associated with this disturbance will reach central regions of New Brunswick this afternoon. As a result the snow will quickly change to rain over southern regions of the province but further north heavy snow is expected and snowfall amounts of 15 centimetres are expected.

After the low moves past the Gaspé Peninsula a sharp cold front will sweep across the province causing temperatures to plummet to values well below freezing. This rapid drop in temperatures will cause wet surfaces brought on by today's mild spell to rapidly freeze. Very icy conditions are likely in many areas of the province starting this evening.

So what? People will adjust driving speed accordingly, won't they? I know *I* will reduce my driving speed to zero.
