Years ago, the house across the road was struck by lightning. We all ran out, as the roof had exploded and we were concerned for the folk inside. There was a distinct smell of ozone, the sort of smell you got from those old-fashioned 2-bar fires when you first switched them on. And there were strange lilac/ pink worms of light wriggling over the surface of their garden. I suppose it was the electricity discharging to earth.
