Get with modern worrld gnu. Norms of what is funny and what is disrespectful have changed. There was a time that racial, sexist and hurtful jokes werecseen as funny by everyone. Thankfully, many (but, surely not all) considerate folks now see things differently, and can view potentially derogatory in a more sensitive light. I have learned to "speak up" versus sif back when I see potentially considerate people cross the line, using humour (aka, disrespect, disguised as humour) or other more direct routes.

Gnu, If you care to break away from your easy chair, watching don cherry, and read my original post on the cartoon, and I noted the variations in views on what costitutes humour. I also indicated some may not find that cartoon funny, and that some may view it as somewhat offensive to women.

As to women and hockey: unlike Don Cherry, Imo, good hocky trancends rough strong-guy stuff designed to entertain through potentially haming other players. Being strong is not a factor in being agile, and skating, puck handling, passing and receiving, being a team player and thinking and acting fast. These all make up good hockey and hockey players, as with many sports. Though more compact in structure (like some males and nationalities) ), I see no reason why women can not excell in hockey, as men do (recognizing that men have had a head start, through participation for far longer). In fact, the Olympics prove it so.

Btw, I found it rude for you to bring my family into the "what is humour -cartoon discussion (my daughter). That pissed me off. I would expect better from you- but, possibly I misjudged your character?
