Subject: RE: House Concert ME Rose Sheehan/John Hicks
John and I are looking forward to music making in Maine. We're eager do our part to help spread the word!

Here's our bio:

"Rose Sheehan, vocals and button accordion, and John Hicks, vocals, guitar, ukulele and mandolin, have combined their musical interests and talents to interpret and perform a mix of songs, old and new, rooted in the folk and traditional music of North America and the British Isles. Each song from their inspired catalog is a celebration of life from the sublime to the ridiculous, the tender to the bawdy, the joyful to the tragic.

Rose, a life-long New Englander, has been happily learning, interpreting and presenting traditional music and dance since the late 1970's. Her musical celebrations of the Yuletide and May have delighted multiple generations in community settings for nearly three decades. She is a passionate singer, enchanting listeners wherever she sings. Her powerful voice naturally conveys poignancy, humor, and simple joy. Rose sings from the heart, moving her listeners along the narrative and poetic currents of each song.

John, a Brooklyn native, was playing at the Gaslight in Greenwich Village up to its closing. From there he plunged headlong into folk music throughout New England, musical theater on- and off-Broadway, swing music in Austin, the blues in Tulsa, and ukulele throughout the US and Canada. He currently plays some combination of all of the above north of Boston. When not playing with Rose, John plays traditional jazz and teaches ukulele at North Shore Community College."
