Subject: RE: Grand kids
When my son was young enough to still practice trick-or-treating, we took him to the "Zoo Boo", a kids' Halloween event at the Como Park Zoo here in St. Paul, and he came home with a bag of goodies. One of the items was a mix tape consisting of various pop songs selected especially for kids. My son loved it. It got played over and over on our car stereo until it wore out. Some of the songs were boring (to me) bubble-gum music, but some of it was quite good. One song that stands out in my memory, and which I grew to love myself, was LEAN ON ME by Bill Withers, from 1972. Excerpt:What could be better than that? Not everything has to be folk music.
