David Bromberg is a great musician and performer, and to my ears "My Own House" was his best record -- mainly acoustic, solo or small ensemble, with a couple of live cuts thrown in. I've been playing his version of Blind Blake's "Chump Man Blues" ever since learning it off the album twenty years ago. I saw him on the tour he did to support this album (must have been around 1980), which followed the same format -- acoustic solo/duo/trio. Great stuff. He doesn't perform regularly any more, but if he ever does venture out, you should make it a point to see him.
