I just had a look at folk 21 on facebook, and as I scrolled down it seemed to be people advertising their gigs, I could not see much discussion, perhaps I was looking in the wrong place?

I think you must have been. Like you, I scrolled through all of Folk 21 for 2014 and could find not one advertised gig. There were mentions for their own "Regional Days and Showcases" which are different from ordinary gigs.

Didn't find anything that sounded anything like Kampervan's phrase of "vindictive mud-slinging and name calling." over their either, Bryan.
