Well, that is not what it states in the ABOUT section of their group page where, at the beginning, it states:-
This group/discussion board supports Folk21, an initiative which aims to help sustain and support a thriving "guest booking" folk club and small music venue network in the UK. The group is open to anyone - organisers, would-be organisers, artists, agents and fans - to discuss the issues facing folk clubs, exchange ideas, tips and advice, as we try to help build strong network for the future.

I don't follow Folk 21 that closely by my impression is that, overall, they are achieving those aims. I'd also be interested in what you see as the difference between artists and folk song singers unless this is some tongue-in-cheek comment that I am missing the point of.

About Folk 21 Bryan writes:-
"Not individually perhaps but folk club organisers in general can come in for a bit of a bashing."

There is certainly an element of truth in what you say, Bryan, but in a board that seems to have raising standards in the organisation of folk clubs as one of its aims, there is bound to be evaluation of where folk clubs are at, criticism of where things have gone wrong and suggestions of where things could be improved.
The alternative would be to imply that things are all fine and dandy in Folkclubland which you and I know is not the case.
