Aye, just think, The: you and I would undoubtedly both be dead by now but for that opportune moment. I'd given up for about six weeks in that fateful February of 1978 (well, it felt like a long month anyway...), and I was weakening badly, when we discovered that we were pregnant. That gave me courage to keep it up. My lovely daughter, now aged 34, doesn't realise that I wouldn't be here but for her. I'm not going to tell her either.
