Mum's still in the hospital, it's ulcerative colitis that had gone untreated for at least four months, and she was sick and tired of being sick and tired, as well as burned out from being my gran's caregiver and not getting any (or enough) help and being really bad about asking for help from the rest of the family. She's part of a double-blind study where they're using a hyperbaric chamber to aid healing. The problem is that it is a double-blind study and she may or may not actually be receiving the oxygen and her doctor doesn't know if she's receiving the oxygen, either. Hopefully it helps.
