There was a time when I thought The Association was the most interesting musical group around. I didn't know the names or stories of any of the performers, but I enjoyed every new album that came out - many of the songs were very thought-provoking.

"Requiem Aeternam"

I see that The Association were supposed to record Jimmy Webb's MacArthur Park. I suppose the song fits the sometimes-pretentious style of The Association (which impressed me at the time), but I'm glad they left it to Richard Harris.
