I seem to remember writing a parody (as distinct from a "parrotty") of the chorus of "Auld Maid in a Garret" as a teenager, many years ago... Ironically, Johnny Moynihan of Sweeney's Men, who popularised it in Ireland, is now a neighbour of mine.
