In the Penguin Book of American Folksongs, Lomax gives "The Little Brown Bull" as a Great Lakes Shanty. The first verse is:

A little brown bull come down the mount'n
A-roarin', boys, a-roarin',
A little brown bull come down the mount'n
A long time ago
