Thread Name: someone stuffed a crumpet up my trumpet
Subject: RE: someone stuffed a crumpet up my trumpet
The song "Someone Stuffed a Crumpet up me Trumpet" was written by my grandfather, Frank Cardoe, who performed it regularly in the Birmingham area (UK) until his retirement in the mid 1960s.

The sheet music for the song was stolen from his dressing room one evening and evidently sold on to Cardew Robinson, who changed the lyrics and recorded it on his 1967 EMI album "Cream of Cardew"as "Trumpet Involuntary"

Frank Cardoe has never been credited for the song, but a privately-pressed recording was made on a 78 record which I have recently digitised.

If anyone has nay information about my grandfather, I would be delighted to hear from them as I am currently researching his life and work.
