Why??? Bean counters & incompetent middle managers who'd rather promote their own vested interests and sabotage each other's projects.

The network wanted Josh Weadon ... but didn't grasp that the project he wanted to do would actually cost money to produce. So they freaked at the costs. The sabotage was shifting the air time so that fans would miss episodes and new viewers couldn't find it, costing them Neilson ratings, to justify pulling the show & replacing with another.
