Mark Cohen, Our Gal Sal, Sally Star, was guest of honor at our holiday parade a few years ago. She got a tremendous reception. Remember Gene London and Cartoon Corners General Store? A co-worker told me that as a child her Brownie troop was on Gene's show. Apparently, the pictures he drew were done beforehand and he's just make a few lines on the paper for the camera. She was crushed to learn that he didn't draw the pictures live. And how about Bertie the Bunyip on Sunday mornings?
