Just seen on the news that it was indeed Hollesley Bay. I must say that, in my (not inconsiderable) experience, prisoners very seldom reform themselves, even after all the input given them from innumerable agencies. They appeared to me to be villains through and through. Their attitude was based on getting whatever they could by whatever means possible, while playing the part of a nice lad. Do-gooding doesn't have much effect, they merely laughed their heads off at it. Sorry to sound so bitter, but I spent many many hours travelling and visiting, and cared deeply about the youngsters. But the things they told me would make your hair stand on end. Even several Chaplains told me that they were most unlikely to go straight. The drugs are the main reason, and nearly all of them were on serious drugs. Believe me, prisons are awash with them. After being in eight prisons all over England, I finally gave up in despair. I know it's the fault of their parent/s and upbringing, but you'll never change them. Ask any Police Officer.
