during a hospital stay i found beth orton, bert jansch, eels and especially john martyn really helpful. obviously not canadian but far out when on the strong painkilllers. small hours, head and heart etc just trippy anyway - just what is needed when you want to escape this world and all its hideousness. gillian welch - i dream a highway -meanders on beautifully forever and if you insist on canadian - hejira is one long, soothing and interesting ride.
but if therapy is what you need - let a lovely and quiet spot in the countryside choose you and just sit there.
