Because I have some hearing loss, I was delighted to find "closed caption" available for many TV programs.......... but it seems the process is automated in many instances, by some voice-to-word program, leading to what must be very confusing news stories for totally deaf folks..

My favourite was when the announcer referred to 'the latest borrowing figures' and it was displayed as 'the latest boring figures'. Even now, I'm not sure which was more accurate.
