Services start at about $40 for inorganic analyses, small molecules, but for complex organics (protein biomarkers, etc.), or for components in complex mixtures, $250/sample is closer to the mark.
Spectra of the interval desired are necessary.

You do not give sufficient information! What type of material, spectrum range comparison desired, preliminary screening needed, etc.

For more information, try Advanced Analytical Testing Service, Ontario, CA., or other services;
Proteomics Core, Univ. Rochester NY; Kinectus Bioinformatics, Vancouver, Canada; Advanced Analytical Testing, Ontario, CA.

Small spectrophotometers start at about $15,000, but those for complex materials can be very expensive. Then adequate software and spectra comparisons also can be very costly.
Add the preliminary screening lab, and the bill is way above the home/hobby range, except for the very rich. Add the education needed for the evaluator.......
