Thread Name: Lyr Req: Unpucker (Louvin & Carlisle)
Subject: Lyr Req: Unpucker (Louvin & Carlisle)
Can anybody post the lyrics to "Unpucker"? Apparently, it's by Charlie & Ira Louvin & Bill Carlisle.
Here's the e-mail request I got for this song:
am looking for the Lyrics of Unpucker. Charlie & Ira Louvin & Bill Carlisle collaborated on the song. I remember only a few things about my mother one of which was her singing the song.
Part of one of the verses:
One night I went to see her and it came a thunderstorm
be my luck the lightning struck and all the power went out
I grabbed her quick and puckered up and then I heard her shout
Unpucker momma's at the door, unpucker or we can't court no more…………
I would love to have the entire lyrics. If you can assist me please advise.
I can verify that the song was written by Ira Louvin; Charles Louvin; Bill Carlisle. It was published in 1954, and the title is indeed "Unpucker." Click Here for a photo of the record label. It was the "B" side of a Bill Carlisle recording titled "'Tain't Nice." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5WoIiIlZpc
