Performance of the competition? How about Dominguez, the Ecuador goalkeeper tonight. Had to dive to save one shot. Otherwise it just looked as if shot was fired straight at him, which bespeaks some of the best goalkeeping anticipation I have seen in 70+ years of watching football [& playing -- as a goalkeeper! tho maybe not quite of World Cup class].

Anyone nominate a better goalkeeping display? Or another candidate for Man of the Tournament?

OK -- I know: it isn't over till it's over. Till then...
