1. Delilah was a dark-haired pretty thing with flashing dark brown eyes,
And Samson was a servant of the living God who never was to compromise.
He met her in a little town one day; her love was sweet to him,
But the Lord saw it all and it grieved His heart for Samson fell in sin.

2. Delilah was paid by the Philistines to find what made him strong.
Three times she tricked and tried to betray the man who wore his hair so long.
She begged and pleaded until one day his soul could stand no more.
Then he said: "If you cut my hair, I'll be weak, for it means I am the Lord's.

3. They cut his hair while he was a-sleeping and he never heard a sound,
When he awakened, his knees started shakin' as they dragged him to the ground.
The Philistines put out his eyes and bound him with their chains.
He became a slave in the prison house and died down there in shame.
