I just remembered another "terminally stupid" story that I read a few years ago, but I can't remember some of the details — like where it happened. I think it was either in Toronto or New York. Seems a young lawyer's favorite party trick was to hurl himself against the plateglass windows of skyscrapers, just to watch the other guests' reactions. One finally broke on about the 23rd floor. Now THAT's culling the herd!
