There are many "names" at Whitby deserving of their position as headliners. There are many more behind the scene workers who don't get the credit they deserve. I believe Joe and Mo are foremost of these. It's very easy for Fred and others to mock but these two, with their total committment to folk, are the ones who help to keep festivals alive. Whitby isn't the only festival where they unstintingly give of their time.
I think it's time that festival organisers got together and gave them free passes to all British folk festival - they really do deserve it.
