I recently dumped Sky and went for BT. As well as the slightly better fibre broadband deal, it also occurred to me that I only ever watched a handful of channels. In fact, the only things we watch live are football, cricket and GP. Anything else ( sadly including many cookery and property buying programmes, addicted to Grand Designs) would be recorded or as of now, watched on Catch up.

I decided to buy the entertainment channels. Their advertising was 100% American series sit coms and soaps. Presumably they use my purchase as evidence that is what people want but the truth is, I only got it to be able to carry on watching Wheeler Dealers on Discovery.
