Hamas is a political party with Christians and atheists in its number. It had control of the Palestinian army in the same way the conservative party has control of the British Army.

Yes, there must be many people in Hamas sympathetic to the aims of Al Qaeda (which does not wish for a global caliphate, prick) and that makes them dangerous in the same way gung ho foolish British military top brass occasionally need reining in by ministers and diplomats with vast greater grasp on issues.
